The Muse First Year Anniversary Approaching
The MuseItUp Club will be celebrating their very first anniversary on the sixth of September. A whole year has come and gone and what a buzz it's been.

If you link above and then to go our PUBLISHING NEWS link, you will get an opportunity to read some of our members accomplishments in getting published. Some of these publication venues may help you find another venue for your own writing.

We've had several contests. We started our First Annual Book Project in January, to be published with Double Dragon Publication in February 2006. It is a jam-packed writing book with 18 writers offering you a variety of subjects to spruce up your writing. The book is THE MUSE ON WRITING.

We started a FlashFiction Success Board, with weekly prompts for members to enjoy and stimulate their creative juices.

The Muse also began a seperate division for reviews: THE MUSE BOOK REVIEWS:

In our second year, The MuseItUp Club will have a Board of Directors to seperate several sections within.

If you are interested in becoming a Muse member, all you have to do is email me at:

museitupeditor@yahoo.ca

Have a great day.

Less Writing=More Dog Pooper-Scooper
Although not writing related, I did find an angle to this story.

So we bought a Llapa Apso on Monday. Cute little two month old, white body, black ears and tail. VERY ENERGETIC!!! Keep in mind I usually write or webwork about 10 hours a day. I haven't been able to get on for more than an hour a day this week and it's Friday today. This pup has worn me out.

The relation to writing? Distractions can keep you away from writing if you allow them to. So I've made a new schedule: teach pup not to bite my laptop wires and I'll be fine. :)

Helpful links for writing for children
I came across these links and wanted to share them with everyone.

http://www.underdown.org/prek_nf.htm
http://www.underdown.org/mf_writing_picture_books.htm

Writing for children is not as easy as a writer may think. Writing for the older crowd, you have time to expand scenarios and characters. Writing for children, you need to captivate their attention right off with interesting characters they can relate to and situations they can associate with.

Little children are susceptible to what a writer pens to paper so we need to be careful.

Also, writing for children means not only does a writer need to get past the publishing door for acceptance, but their book needs to pass the inspection of the child's parent plus the school librarian to place the book within their school system. Fun, eh? :)

Hope you enjoy the links above.
